How To Prepare For Your Yoga Class?
What to wear
We encourage you to wear anything that makes you feel comfortable and allows you to move with ease during your Yoga practice.

What to bring
Our classes are outdoor classes.
Nature provides soothing energy, tranquility and a sense of interconnectedness.
Yet, it's what resides within you that truly shapes your Yoga experience.

Please, don't feel overwhelmed by the list provided. Consider it a set of gentle suggestions aimed at enhancing your comfort. Our utmost desire is to ensure your experience is nothing short of delightful.

-
Your yoga mat (plus a sturdy chair if you're joining our Chair Yoga sessions);

-
A Water bottle;

-
A post-class snack, if desired;

-
Two folded bath towels are all you need to ensure a comfortable and joyful Yoga experience. If you have other yoga props, consider bringing a firm cushion, a folded thin blanket, and two yoga blocks. These props serve as the foundation for seated postures, helping maintain a long and comfortable spine. Furthermore, a blanket or towel provides extra cushioning for your knees, wrists, or elbows during specific poses, while yoga blocks play a role in various sitting and standing postures;

-
A warm jumper and socks for relaxation, particularly during colder months;

-
A small hand towel for moisture management, particularly during the warmer months;

-
Hat, sunscreen, and insect repellent as appropriate for outdoor classes.

Note: If you have severe insect bite allergy and carry an EpiPen with you, please, make it available to your instructor prior to class.
What do you need to do to prepare for your Class

-
We recommend having a light meal or snack at least 1.5 hours prior to the class.

-
Please, sign the Waiver form before attending your first class (hard copies are available for you upon arrival. Please, allow time for reading and signing the waiver prior to the commencement of the class). You can read more on Why Signing a Waiver Matters here. You can find a copy of the Waiver form here.

Managing anxiety before your Class
If you experience anxiety before the class, we encourage you to let us know in advance, even if you're unsure of the reason. At DessiYoga, there is no right or wrong way to feel before a class, and we are here to provide support. We will work closely with you to address any concerns and make your experience as comfortable as possible. If you're uncertain about committing to a group class, we offer individual class options where the first class is complimentary.

You can find more information on what to expect in your Yoga class here.

What if I can't perform a posture or have difficulty following the Class?
At DessiYoga, we cannot stress enough that Yoga is fully inclusive and entirely accessible to everyone. In every DessiYoga class, the atmosphere is one of celebrating your unique essence, fostering encouragement, and upholding mutual respect.

We want to make it abundantly clear that there is no expectation for you to perform a posture if you are not ready for it. Copying body shapes is not the objective in Yoga. The true essence of Yoga lies in honouring your body as it is on any given day and respecting your own limits.

Your instructor will always offer modifications or suggest alternative postures. Moreover, you are always welcome to rest in a position that makes you feel comfortable throughout the class.

Rest assured, we will never leave anyone behind during our classes. Typically, our classes are conducted at a slower pace, providing ample opportunities for self-inquiry and moments of rest.
